Ducklings

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Ducklings room!  I am excited to begin the new 2012-2013 school year.

This will be my second year as a lead teacher at Child’s Day.  I have had the pleasure of working in other accredited centers as the lead teacher in the infant room and with older toddlers. I have also taught Kindergarten and First Grade in a private school for four years. I obtained an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development from Austin Community College.  Prior to moving to south Austin, I previously owned a registered home child care facility for ten years.  I bring many years of experience with children of all ages, from infants through school age.

Many changes will occur in our classroom over the coming year.  The children will reach developmental milestones in their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive areas of growth.  We will strive to provide an environment and curriculum that supports and challenges them in all aspects.

As communication is established between home and school, our goal is to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing place for your child.  Please share information about your child, ask questions, and provide ideas that will enhance the teamwork that is needed to offer the best possible care for your child.  The best form of communication outside the classroom is through email or you may also call the infant center.
