Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Colts’ classroom! I am excited to begin the 2016-2017 school year!

This is my first year teaching at Child’s Day, and I am beyond excited to grow with you and your child. My passion for seeing children develop and flourish began at the University of Texas (UT) where I earned my Bachelor of Science and Arts in Human Development and Family Sciences with a minor in Psychology. During my last semester at UT I had the honor of assisting in the kindergarten classroom at the Priscilla Pond Flawn Laboratory School.

This experience strengthened my conviction that I wanted to spend the rest of my life walking alongside young children as they confidently explore and learn about the world. I strongly believe that each child is capable of learning and achieving great things, especially in the presence of loving and trustworthy adults. A strong understanding of each child’s developmental level coupled with appropriate materials and learning experiences will provide an optimal learning environment for your child this year. Among many other things, literacy, natural elements, and social skills will have large roles in our classroom as we work on preparing your children for their very bright futures.

This will be a very exciting year filled with playing, learning, and growing. I am honored to be a part of your children’s lives.

Thank you,

Tina Gilbert
