Robins

 Hello Robin Families,

I want to take a moment to welcome you all to the Robin classroom. I look forward to getting to know you and your children throughout this upcoming year as part of the Robin community. This is such an exciting age full of independence and curiosity and I am excited to be your lead teacher this year.

I have been with Child’s Day since February 2015 and am looking forward to seeing the start of this new year with you and your children. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Carlow University.  Shortly after I graduated, I moved to Maryland and started working as the co-provider at an in-home daycare. This is where I developed my love for teaching young children. I decided to stay with teaching the early ages and worked at a Montessori school throughout 2013-2014. I have cared for children ages six weeks to ten years with most of my time being with threes to fours. My passion has always been working with young children in the full day classroom setting.  I am eager to start this upcoming year with your child in the Robins classroom. We are going to have a wonderful year full of fun, exploration and learning.

In the Robins classroom, we value making children feel safe, loved and in an environment that inspires growth and learning. This year, my goal will be to provide your children with the tools and opportunities each day to strengthen their social, cognitive, and physical abilities while also challenging them to grow independently. The Robins classroom will be a place where your children can have fun and explore new ideas while constantly being supported in their adventures. Our focus  will be to foster a love of learning, ability to make decisions, to solve problems, to think creatively, and to work independently as well as with others.

I am excited to be a part of your child’s journey to learn, grow and build friendships. Your children will have a year full of self discovery and development. Our classroom will provide a safe and supportive space where your children can learn and foster their independence. I am confident that this will be a wonderful year in the Robins classroom.

I value any feedback, questions or concerns you have for our upcoming year.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Chappel
