Turtles

Welcome to the Turtle Class!

Hello families. My name is Tram Dominguez, and I am honored to be your child’s teacher for the upcoming school year.  This will be my first year leading at Child’s Day CDC. I am grateful to have had the summer getting to know many of the future Turtles already. I am expecting a very smooth and fun transition this fall.

My goal every year is to have each child advocate for themselves and to be kind and considerate to others in a safe, loving environment. I know it’s possible. I will encourage students to use words and strong voices. I will also model appropriate behaviors, and I will set age-appropriate boundaries.

A typical day in the Turtle Room includes:

  • Access to art, independent and group projects
  • Plenty of fine and gross motor activities
  • Sensory activities
  • Reading and singing
  • Dramatic play
  • Endless social interactions

These toddler years include a lot of communication, with friends and teachers, and of course with their own family. Each day in class, your child will have many chances to make decisions, express their feelings, and resolve conflicts. And I will be there to guide them through all the steps.

Professionally, I have been teaching for seven years. I previously taught at the First English Lutheran CDC and the Rosedale School, both here in Austin. I have five years of experience with early childhood development and two years with special education for teenagers. I have cared for over a hundred amazingly unique students, each with varying behaviors. Each child is different and each child requires a specially formulated kind of approach, patience, and guidance. I look forward to getting your little one and finding the best teaching style to help your child succeed.

I am thrilled to be a part of your child’s next step in life. It’s going to be amazing.

Sincerely,

Tram Dominguez
