Little Lambs

Welcome Little Lamb Families,

My name is Alana Dias and it is truly an honor to welcome you all to the Little Lambs classroom for the 2017-2018 school year. It will be my second year as the Lead in the Little Lambs Classroom at Child’s Day. Before joining Child’s Day, I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I was an Early Childhood Educator in a play-based Reggio-Emilia preschool for three years, working with children ages two to five. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and an endorsement in Structured English Immersion. I’m married to a wonderful man named Kevin, and we are expecting our first child, a baby boy, in November.
In the Little Lambs classroom, it is our goal to create an environment in which each child feels loved, safe, and happy. Through feeling secure in themselves, the routine, and the classroom, they will be able to learn about and explore the world around them with confidence. We focus on gaining self-help skills and we strive to create a sense and willingness of independence in each child. Our belief is that through a play-based, child-centered classroom, the Little Lamb children will develop the tools they need to be successful socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
I believe that children will change the world and it is my passion to teach them with kindness, love, and open exploration. I know this year will be a fantastic one, and please know that I am always available for any questions, ideas, and feedback.
Sincerely,
Alana Dias
Little Lambs Lead
