Little Lambs

Welcome Little Lamb Families,

My name is Alana Dias and it is truly an honor to welcome you all to the Little Lambs classroom for the 2016-2017 school year.  It is my first year at Child’s Day, for I recently moved to Austin from the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband Kevin and our orange tabby cat Norbert. In California, I was an Early Childhood Educator in a play-based Reggio-Emilia preschool for three years, working with children ages two to five. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Early Childhood Education and an endorsement in Structured English Immersion.  I believe that children will change the world and it is my passion to teach them with kindness, love, and open exploration.

In the Little Lambs classroom, it is our goal to create an environment in which each child feels loved, safe, and happy. Through feeling secure, they will be able to learn about and explore the world around them. We focus on gaining self-help skills through developing confidence in all areas of development. Our belief is that through a play-based, child-centered classroom, the Little Lamb children will develop the tools they need to be successful socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.

I know this year will be a wonderful one, and please know that I am always available for any questions, ideas, and feedback.
